About the Artist
David Daughtry is an acclaimed gospel recording artist, actor, and psalmist whose more than two-decade career reflects musical excellence, spiritual depth, and authentic storytelling. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and musically trained by his mother from the age of six, he developed a strong foundation in both faith and music before relocating to Los Angeles, where his gifts opened doors to work with legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Beyoncé Knowles, Michael Bublé, and Yolanda Adams. He currently serves as Assistant Minister of Music at West Angeles Church of God in Christ under Bishop Charles E. Blake, while continuing to build a respected solo career. His 2014 self-titled debut album charted on Billboard and produced the widely embraced congregational anthem “God Is Great/Leap,” followed by The Songbook of David, Volume One and the breakout hit “I Can’t Forget,” further establishing his worship-centered sound. With the upcoming release of his new single, “The Good Shepherd,” from a forthcoming live recording project, Daughtry continues to evolve musically while remaining rooted in ministry. Beyond music, his work spans film, television, and major national broadcasts, and he remains deeply committed to outreach through Disciples on the Move, carrying the Gospel across the U.S. and abroad. Above all, David Daughtry’s mission is to glorify God through song, inspire faith, and see lives transformed—confident that, as he declares, the best is yet to come.
